MISS CALIFORNIA USA® Streams to Record Viewers
The Pageant garners over 1 million online views as Miss Hillsborough USA, Alyssa Campanella, gets crowned MISS CALIFORNIA USA® 2011
Rancho Mirage, CA, November 23, 2010 - At one of the year’s most exciting live events, a star-studded panel of judges chose Miss Hillsborough USA, Alyssa Campanella as MISS CALIFORNIA USA® 2011.
The evening was centered around the newest incorporation to the pageant; an interactive feature where viewers at home were able to watch the live stream of the show on Dyyno.com. Dyyno helped MISS CALIFORNIA USA® pioneer two new awards: Miss Friend's and Miss People's Choice for the contestants who successfully leverage social networking skills with Facebook and Twitter.
In addition to the awards, Dyyno provided a live stream of the entire pageant to viewers across California, USA, and the World. Dyyno partnered with Justin.tv and Roku to make the Pageant available live for the first time-ever on multiple devices including: Roku, PCs, Justin.tv, mobile phones, and Facebook.
Campanella is a 20 year-old recent California transplant, thus her first appearance in the California pageant system. However, she is no stranger to holding a crown. In 2007, Campanella held the title of MISS NEW JERSEY TEEN USA. Campanella will move on to compete at the 60th MISS USA® pageant. It will be held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in Spring 2011.
Shanna Moakler hosted the event with co-producer and state director, Keith Lewis at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, California where 213 contestants from across the state of California participated in. During the two-hour event, the contestants competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.
Miss Greater San Diego Teen USA, Alexis Swanstrom, was crowned MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA® 2011.
Final Results:
First Runner Up: Miss Laurel Canyon USA, Katherine Blair, will assume the duties of MISS CALIFORNIA USA® 2010 if the titleholder is named MISS USA® 2010 or for some reason cannot fulfill her responsibilities.
Second Runner Up: Miss LA, Lindsey Sporrer
Third Runner Up: Miss Ventura County, Colleen Hunter
Fourth Runner Up: Miss Los Angeles County, Nana Meriwether
Friend’s Choice (Facebook): Miss Ventura Blvd, Malorie Mackey
People’s Choice (Twitter): Miss Solano County, Linsey Atis
